Kendriya Vidyalaya Kalimpong, Kalimpong
GENESIS
Kendriya Vidyalaya Kalimpong first came into being in 1985 to serve the basic educational purpose of the children of the military personnel posted at the station and to quench the thirst of education of the mountainous people in general. The Vidyalaya started in a temporary building near Engineer Chowk in two blocks with a total of four classrooms.
VISION
We dream of students who passionately love their country and whose competencies and values enable them to realise their full potential and contribute meaningfully to building the nation. As a learner-centred public institution, we look forward to the holistic development of our students and at the same time we rigorously extend ourselves today to make our Vidyalaya a confluence of ethos and culture to produce world citizens of tomorrow....

To protect and promote the right of every student to quality, equitable, culture-based, and complete education where: Students learn in a learner-centred, gender sensitive, safe and motivating environment; Teachers facilitate learning and constantly nurture every learner; Administrators and non-teaching staff, as stewards of the Vidyalaya, ensure an enabling and supportive environment for effective learning to happen;
